Sundial Care Home has celebrated National Allotments Week by putting its gardening effort on display.
The home, which has a well-sized garden, houses not only wildlife but also a variety of vegetables, flowers and general plant life.
According to the home's staff, residents have thoroughly enjoyed being involved in activities such as taking care of sunflower seeds.
The simple task is said to be excellent for strengthening hands and improving mobility.
The tomato plants in the greenhouse, recently ripe and ready, are considered a source of pride by all.
These tomatoes often end up directly on the dinner table, thanks to Sundial's kitchen team.
They also utilise fresh herbs, such as the popular blackcurrant sage, in their food preparation.
The garden appeals to wildlife in the area as well, with daily deer visits along with appearances by pheasants, squirrels, bees and butterflies.
The birds attracted by the garden provide entertainment to all.
In commemoration of National Allotments Week, Sundial Care Home encourages everyone to find pleasure in gardening - a pastime that they argue brings joy, vitality, and colour to everyday life.
