Sidmouth Primary School has been presented with 123 books for its library by Winstone’s of Sidmouth.
The bookshop launched its ‘Build A Library’ scheme in March. Local customers, visitors and parents were invited to buy new books from the school's ‘wish list’.
The books were presented to the school at a special assembly at the end of the summer term.
Sam Weir, deputy head, said: “I would like to thank our wonderful community with their amazing support for our Build a Library project in partnership with Winstone's Books! We are extremely grateful for those who have supported the project!”
Denise Thomas, bookseller, said: “At Winstone’s, we are passionate about reading and mindful of school budgets, so we’re over the moon that the scheme has been so successful. I would also like to thank our generous customers who have made this possible.”
Sidbury Primary School has now joined the scheme and Newton Poppleford Primary will be on board in September. Anyone who would like to help these schools build their libraries can visit Winstone’s Bookshop to see their 'wish lists'.
