Proposals have been revealed for 65 new homes in Ottery St Mary.
A developer has contacted the town council and some local residents to inform them of its proposals for a ‘high quality residential development’ on land at Strawberry Lane.
The company, KCS Development Ltd, is undertaking a public consultation exercise before submitting a planning application.
Ottery St Mary town council has called an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday, August 6 to discuss the proposals.
The developer said the scheme ‘will deliver new housing in the area as well as improvements to infrastructure and services, which can benefit the area’.
The outline planning application currently being prepared is for 65 new homes including affordable housing and smaller properties to meet local need. There will be areas of ‘formal green space’ including play areas. The proposals also include pedestrian and cycle routes through the site and along Strawberry Lane, leading to and from the town centre, along with community spaces and allotments.
The developer has asked Ottery Town Council for its views, and the council has welcomed the opportunity to give its feedback before a planning application is drawn up and submitted to East Devon District Council.
