‘Fashion, fizz and fun’ were on offer at the Harbour Hotel on Friday, July 12 in an event that showcased the offerings of local boutiques and promoted Sidmouth's independent businesses.
The fashion show was hosted by the Louise Dress Agency, in partnership with Annie’s of Sidmouth and Pobby & Blue, and supported by a team of creative volunteers including students from local schools and universities.
Models paraded along the catwalk in outfits by designers including Dolce & Gabbana, Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen, accessorised with Prada and Chanel handbags, courtesy of the Louise Dress Agency. The collection also included men’s Burberry shirts and coats and a selection of vintage luxury items.
Pobby & Blue featured a selection of boutique Italian-style fashion in quirky designs and vibrant colours that complemented the evening’s high-fashion ambiance.
Annies of Sidmouth added the finishing touch with a range of luxury leather accessories, stylish hats and unique umbrellas for both men and women.
The fashion show was compered by Mike Dibble who kept the audience entertained with witty banter and style tips.
Guests enjoyed canapés and cocktails, and, after the show, they had the opportunity to buy their favourite items at pop-up stalls.
A spokesperson for the event said: “Beyond the glamour, the Sidmouth Fashion Show had another purpose that Louise McCullin of Louise Dress Agency wanted to create the show for: to support and promote local independent businesses.
“By featuring these local vendors and their unique offerings, the event demonstrated that Sidmouth can hold its own in the world of fashion and that small businesses such as these can contribute to a town’s social scene.
“It was a celebration of community, creativity, and commerce, proving that style knows no bounds—even in a Devonshire seaside town like Sidmouth.
“The event’s success was a testament to the thriving local fashion scene and the enthusiastic support of the community. With its blend of high-end fashion, local charm, and a dash of humour, the Sidmouth Fashion Show set a high bar for future events, leaving guests eagerly anticipating next year or even next season's edition.”
