Talking about the inspiration behind the first Love Local Food Festival by Greendale, Tom Lomas, Head of Retail and Hospitality at Greendale, says: "Supporting local businesses is at the heart of what we do at Greendale.  Hosting the Love Local Food Festival is our way of celebrating the superb growers, producers and makers here in the West Country. Following the success of our Love Local Christmas Market at John Lewis & Partners last year, we wanted to bring even more fantastic producers back to Exeter city centre. The festival will showcase the best local food and drink along with live music, masterclasses, talks and demonstrations throughout the day while being free for visitors to enter.”

Greg Parsons, Chair of Food Drink Devon, adds: “Food Drink Devon is extremely excited to collaborate with Greendale to launch the first Love Local Food Festival.  The festival will not only highlight the incredible talent and quality of the region’s food and drink producers but will also bring together the food and drink community which is so important.  Food Drink Devon is committed to increasing Devon’s food and drink profile, and food festivals are an integral part of that.”

Deep in the heart of the East Devon countryside, surrounded by acres of farmland, is award-winning Greendale Farm Shop on Sidmouth Road (EX5 2JU).  They take pride in selling meat from their own farmland and fish from their fleet of fishing boats and believe it’s incredibly important to support brilliant local businesses in the West Country. By filling their shop with exceptional local produce, they offer their customers great choice, while also supporting the local economy and keeping food miles to a minimum.
