Sidmouth Lions Club's annual Duck Derby raised a healthy amount for charity.
It was a fun-filled afternoon of duck-themed activities culminating in a river race.
The event at the Byes, held on Sunday, July 21, was attended by a significant crowd under the summer sun.
Proceedings started with children's Duck & Spoon races by the Byes Cycle Bridge.
These races had children from two to eleven taking part, followed by competitions for parents and energetic grandparents.
It was followed by the main yellow Duck Race at 3pm, when hundreds of yellow plastic ducks were launched into the River Sid from the Byes Cycle Bridge.
Tickets for the yellow ducks cost £1, and the first nineteen that crossed the finish line earned their owners cash prizes from a total of £900.
The event's ultimate beneficiaries, however, are the two nominated charities, Devon Air Ambulance Trust and Sidmouth Lions Club Charity, both set to receive a share of the proceeds from the day.
Sidmouth Lions Club expressed their gratitude to the public who attended and supported the Derby, in addition to thanking vendors who allowed them to sell tickets outside their premises.
In particular, thanks were extended to Harrison Lavers & Potbury's estate agents for sponsoring the race.
Also acknowledged were the many volunteers who helped out on the day, notably the 1st Sid Vale Venture Scouts, Sidmouth College students and the three St John Ambulance first-aiders present.
