Share your experiences of the Loss of banks in East Devon and its effect on residents with the Exmouth Journal.
My project will be a long-form ‘insight’ feature investigating how many banks have closed in East Devon since the pandemic and how it affects local people.
Without a bank in the towns and villages, many people have had to move to online banking services or travel further afield into Exeter to access a bank there.
East Devon was also the first in the UK to set up Banking Hubs, these are available one day a week to people in Axminster and Sidmouth, located on the High Street. One day a week, there is a representative from each bank at the hub on hand to offer banking services to people. A model which is now being implemented across the UK, including in Somerset.
You can share your experiences and stories below which will be used in the article published around the end of July. Or email adam.manning@newsquest.co.uk.
