Tipton St John’s Sundial Care Home opened its doors for a day during the annual Care Home Open Week, June 24-30.

The day was packed with exciting and fun activities for both visitors and the home's residents, who are affectionately referred to as 'family members'.

The event started in the morning with a spread of cakes and refreshments, while visitors were invited to look around the home and its stunning gardens. Family members enjoyed mingling with visitors and relatives.

In the afternoon, the East Devon Ices van arrived and the East Devon Daytime Band took to the stage for a lively and energetic performance.

The day ended with a visit from Sundial Care Home's favourite four-legged friends from Peak Hill Llamas, who are regular guests at the home and stars on BBC Spotlight. Therapy llama Harry has been shortlisted as a finalist in the BBC Make a Difference Awards, so BBC Radio Devon came along to capture his story at the event.

A spokesperson for Sundial Care Home said they were thankful to the visitors from the community who came to experience first-hand the welcoming atmosphere. This event was not only to highlight the home itself but also to celebrate the strong sense of community and connection within its walls.
