A community hustings event for young people is taking place tomorrow (Friday, June 21) at Sidmouth YMCA.
It's a Q & A session for people aged under 25 to question their general election candidates about issues that matter to them. Those who are not yet old enough to vote are welcome to attend.
Of the seven candidates standing in the Honiton & Sidmouth constituency, three will be attending: Simon Jupp - Conservative; Richard Foord - Lib Dem and Vanessa Coxon - Independent. Kevin Walker will represent the Green Party for candidate Henry Gent.
The other candidates standing for election are Hazel Exon (Party of Women), Jake Bonetta (Labour) and Paul Quickenden (Reform UK).
Barbara Oakes, chair of Sidmouth YMCA, said: "We believe that young people are the future of our community, and their voices matter.
"This event is not just about engaging with candidates; it's about empowering young people to take an active role in shaping their future. We want them to feel confident in their ability to make a difference and to understand that their vote is powerful."
The hustings will take place at YMCA Mill Street, Sidmouth, beginning at 4.30pm, with free refreshments.
