A luxurious spa hotel in Sidmouth has been named among the best in Devon by The Telegraph.
Harbour Hotel, on Manor Road, has also been called ‘the best value spa hotel in Devon’ by the national newspaper.
The Telegraph's writer praised the hotel's stunning location, views, facilities and its prices, which start at £195 per night, in its 8/10 review.
“Attracting style conscious retirees, this contemporary East Devon seafront hotel has knockout views of the Regency town of Sidmouth and Jurassic coastline,” they said.
“There’s a spotlessly clean spa, lap pool, steam room, sauna, gym and spa that offers massages, facials and holistic therapies.
“The function room doubles an exercise studio offering regular classes for the over-55s. Outside, overlooking the sea, is a decked terrace and a small heated lap pool (open March to November).
“Considering its location, design and facilities versus price; it's a good value spa stay.”
A spokesperson for the hotel said it is “always exciting to be included in a round-up from The Telegraph”.
The full list includes three hotels in Salcombe, two on Dartmoor, one in Plymouth, one in Babbacombe and one in Woolacombe.
Boringdon Hall was named the ‘best spa hotel in Devon overall’ with a score of 9/10, and Woolacombe Bay was described as the best for families.
“Every hotel in this curated list has been visited by one of our expert reviewers, who are usually hosted on a complimentary basis,” the article says.
“They stay for a minimum of one night, test at least one meal and trial other experiences that the hotel might have to offer.”
Harbour Hotel has a host of other gongs to its name, including a Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice Award and a Devon Tourism Award.
It was previously included in the Telegraph's ‘best seaside and beach hotels in the UK for one last summer break’ list in September 2023.
