Ottery St Mary Church is hosting a concert of music from the Middle Ages on Saturday June 15.

People are invited to step back in time to when the church was built and listen to some of the music our ancestors from the Middle Ages would have enjoyed.

Musicians Marco Canavo and Steve Tyler will be performing in period costume, playing Medieval instruments including the hurdy-gurdy.

Rev John Hall will set the scene with a short talk on what the church here would have been like in those early days.

Tickets £12 adult, £5 child available from https://www.peoplesfundraising.com/event/hurdy-gurdy-concert  or on the door.

Refreshments will be offered for sale in the interval. All proceeds will go to the church's improvement the lighting in our building and re-wire it.

Marco Canavo one of the musicians said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be performing at Ottery St Mary Parish Church. Our repertoire will feature medieval music from the 12th to the 14th century, including troubadour songs and compositions dedicated to the Virgin Mary."
