Aldi is on the lookout to hire 32 store colleagues in Devon as its latest pay rise comes into effect this week.

Britain's fourth-largest supermarket is welcoming applications from individuals across all experience levels.

The new job openings include both full and part-time positions and spread across the region.

This recruitment push coincides with Aldi escalating the hourly wage rates for its store colleagues across the UK.

Store assistants are set to experience a pay bump from £12.00 to £12.40, while workers within the M25 will see their wages rise from £13.55 to £13.65.

This is not the first time this year that Aldi has boosted pay for its store colleagues.

This latest increase brings the supermarket's investment in pay this year to £79m.

Aldi continues to be the best-paying retailer in the sector, also being the only supermarket providing paid breaks, worth more than £900 annually for the average store colleague.

Kelly Stokes, HR director at Aldi UK, said: "The roll out of our latest pay increase cements our commitment to our colleagues that we will always be the best-paying retailer.

"Our colleagues play an integral part in our ever-increasing popularity, and this is another way for us to acknowledge the incredible work they do every day across the UK."
