Sidmouth's Twinning Circle is looking for new members who can take a keen interest in the twin town, Le Locle in Switzerland.

They are also on the lookout for anyone eager to help or support their fundraising and events. Funds raised go towards entertaining the Locloise guests when they visit, approximately every four years.

Following a successful visit here last June, when members hosted 18 visitors, the twinning circle hopes to welcome a return visit to Switzerland in 2025.

Chair of the Twinning Circle Anne Robson said: "In the meantime we are seeking a new treasurer. Our current treasurer has had to resign due to family commitments. It’s not an onerous task but it is made more arduous by the closure of our high street banks, and by the legal requirements due to us being a registered charity."

The group's next fundraiser is a Garden Party on Saturday June 22 from 3pm to 5pm at 14 Primley Road, Sidmouth.

Anne Robson added: "Usually a members only event, this year we are throwing it open to the public, with £5 entry which will provide them with a full afternoon tea (sandwiches; cake and cream scones and a drink). There will also be a plant sales table and a raffle."
