Officers from Sidmouth Neighbourhood Police Team recently assisted their local Rainbows group in earning their police badge.
The children met PC Tom Driver and community support officer Sarah Reece and they even got to see a police car up close with blue flashing lights.
The group also had the chance to try on some of the police uniforms and find out more about the police.
PC Tom Driver, neighbourhood beat manager for the Sidmouth Neighbourhood Police Team said: “It was great to showcase our work and discuss the different departments and roles in the Devon & Cornwall Police Force. It was a joy to see the enthusiasm from the children and everyone left with a big smile on their face, as well as some special stickers.
“We really enjoy taking part in these community engagement events and we would like to say a big thank you to the Rainbows group of children and staff for their curiosity and excitement.”
The neighbourhood team has regular events in Sidmouth, the next is at Sidmouth Library in Blackmore Drive on Wednesday June 5 from 10am and 2pm. They plan to be at the library on the first Wednesday morning of each month.
They will also be policing summer events such as the Sidmouth Jazz & Blues Festival which runs from Thursday 23 to Monday 27 May, Sidmouth Regatta and Sidmouth Folk Festival in August, as well as the Seaton Natural Festival on Saturday 27 July.
