Two Sidmouth drama groups have triumphed in the south west regional NODA (National Operatic & Dramatic Association) awards for performances staged during 2023.
Sidmouth Musical Theatre (SMT) won 'Best Small Musical Production’ for My Fair Lady and Sidmouth Amateur Dramatics Society (SADS) took the ‘Best Small Pantomime’ award for Robinson Crusoe and the Pirates.
The awards were presented at a ceremony in Plymouth on May 18. Sidmouth's two prize cups will be on display on the Manor Pavilion Theatre, where the performances were staged, in the coming weeks.
Both societies are planning further productions for local audiences to enjoy. SADS will be performing Hansel and Gretel for their pantomime 24/25 and SMT will be performing Oklahoma! for Easter 2025.
