An 87-year-old woman from Sidmouth has done a tandem skydive from 15,000 feet to raise money for Dementia UK.
It was the third time Barbara Mence had jumped out of a plane - she did her first skydive in 2015 and a second in 2016. She said the latest jump, which she completed on Thursday, May 9, is her last.
Barbara said: "It was terrifying, but I landed safely, thanks to a wonderful instructor."
Explaining the reason for her fundraising, she said: "My husband, Alan, lived with dementia for the last few years of his life. I was fortunate that he was able to remain at home with me until he died eight years ago, shortly before our golden wedding anniversary.
"I am raising funds for Dementia UK to help them continue their work in supporting individuals and families experiencing dementia."
Barbara is inviting donations via JustGiving for the charity. At the time of writing she has raised £700.
