Preparations are well under way for this year’s Salcombe Regis Country Fair, which will take place on Thursday, May 30 from 2pm until 5pm.
Organisers describe the event as 'this most British day out, as a quintessentially beautiful sleepy Devon village comes alive with hundreds of visitors enjoying afternoon tea in beautiful gardens'. Entry and parking are free.
Visitors can sip a Pimms whilst browsing the stalls and listening to the Gittisham Hall Jazz Band or the Sid Vale Folk Choir. There are stalls selling books, artisan crafts, locally grown plants, homemade cakes and scones, jams and chutneys. There is also a 'Treasure Table' and bric-a-brac stalls.
The entertainment includes a coconut shy and a raffle with a top prize of £250, and there will be ice cream and candyfloss for sale.
The fair raises money for a range of local charities, and it could not happen without the support of QES Electrical and Sidmouth Scaffolding.
The organisers will be pleased to receive donations for the stalls, including tools, ceramics, toys, jigsaws, pictures, bags, kitchen or garden equipment, and electricals. Please ring Nicola 07775 523402 or Tom 07962 303158 to arrange collection.
