Police are investigating a serious road accident in Sidmouth.
Officers were called to Salcombe Hill Road at around 3.35pm yesterday (Tuesday 23 April).
It was reported that the collision involved a pedal cyclist and a Toyota Yaris, which was parked and unoccupied at the time.
The cyclist, a man in his 20s from Hampshire, was airlifted to hospital by Devon Air Ambulance with potentially life-threatening injuries.
The road was closed whilst investigations took place and was reopened at around 6.50pm.
Officers from the roads policing team wish to thank members of the public for their patience whilst the road was closed.
