Sidmouth's annual hot cross bun giveaway took place as usual on Good Friday, March 29.
A storm the previous day caused a few worries among organisers, but the weather turned out to be good enough to hold the event outside at the Bedford Lawn car park.
Rachel Perram, secretary of the Sidmouth Hot Cross Bun Committee, said: "Chris Lockyear, chair of Sidmouth Town Council, opened the event and helped to distribute the bags of buns to the many children who had waited patiently for their Good Friday goodies.
"The Town Band played and everyone smiled and enjoyed themselves.
"Many members of the public remarked that they always looked forward to this in the Sidmouth Calendar and it was great to welcome families of several generations again.
"The committee would like to extend a big thank you to the businesses and everyone who helped to make Good Friday morning so special this year. In keeping with tradition, buns and oranges were able to be sourced locally, with a business helping by using their supplier to find the best priced eggs.
"Donations were generous and very much appreciated, helping us to nearly make ends meet. We are already looking forward to doing it all again next year!"
