Sidmouth Running Club has presented Sidmouth Independent Lifeboat with a £200 cheque.
The running club's auditor Jeanina Puckey decided to donate £100 to a good local cause. The club offered to match her donation and they agreed that the lifeboat would be an excellent recipient. The club's head coach Kyle Baker is also a member of the lifeboat crew.
Tim Clay, the treasurer of Sidmouth Running Club, presented the cheque to senior tractor driver Paul May.
Sidmouth Lifeboat is a fully self-funded independent service, with charity status. It relies on donations and fundraising initiatives.
As well as operating the emergency rescue service, Sidmouth Lifeboat provides a beach lifeguard team who cover the summer half-term, the summer holidays and the weekends in between.
