A new Public Access Defibrillator is now installed and ready for use at Ottery St Mary Fire Station.
The defibrilltor is kept in a locked unit attached to the front wall of the Fire Station which is immediately visible when entering the station car park. The box is illuminated 24/7 to assist with locating it even at night.
Defibrillators have the capacity to save lives in case of a cardiac arrest. If required it is available to access both day or night and can be found at the station in Canaan Way, opposite Coleridge Medical Centre.
A spokesman for Ottery Fire Station said: "We would like to thank those who donated and aided in our fundraising for this life-saving piece of equipment. We will be installing a commemorative plaque to recognise those who donated, both individuals and businesses, as well as those involved in the charity event."
