RESIDENTS in the South West are being told that heavy rain may result in flooding and disruption on Wednesday (January 21).
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the region, from midnight until noon.
The latest forecast said: “Heavy rain will spread across Wales and the South West England from early on Wednesday morning.
“Rainfall amounts will widely reach 15-25 mm, with as much as 50-70 mm over higher ground.
“With saturated ground in places, this is likely to lead to some disruption. Rain will clear to the east by the afternoon.”
The South West has been subjected to heavy rain over the weekend, prompting several flood alerts to be issued by the Environment Agency.
In Somerset, a yellow warning for rain issued by the Met Office was in place over the weekend, from 3pm on Saturday, February 17 until 6pm on Sunday, February 18.
Between 3pm Saturday and 11am Sunday, there was 53mm in Priddy.
Train services between London and Penzance were disrupted on Sunday, due to flooding between Taunton and Westbury.
