Sidmouth's Bowd Inn is open again after a 'frustrating' few weeks of closure for repair work, following a fire in the building.
The fire broke out in the laundry room in early January and caused 'considerable' damage to the pub kitchen. Tenants Carole and Darren Yates and their family were finally able to welcome customers back in on Monday, February 12.
They say the Bowd is now back to normal and they have used the enforced break to revamp the menu and food service times.
Carole and Darren had originally managed the pub in 2014, having met through the business. They ran it for five years before leaving in 2019, but returned in May last year.
The fire damage came as a blow, but following Monday's reopening the team have told the Herald they are now fully back on track, open all day seven days a week.
Food service times are: Monday to Saturday lunchtimes 12 till 2.30pm, evenings, 5pm till 8.30pm. Carvery times are Wednesday and Thursday 12pm till 2pm, Friday and Saturday 12 till 2 and 5.30pm to 7.30pm, Sunday 12pm till 7.30pm.
Alongside the carvery and main menu, the pub offers locally sourced seasonal specials.
