After the freezing temperatures this week, the weather is set to change for the coming weekend, according to the Met Office.
The cold, bright conditions will continue on Friday. The day will begin with a widespread sharp frost and icy stretches, then blue skies and plenty of winter sunshine, but staying cold with a maximum temperature of 6 °C.
Saturday will be cloudy and slightly milder with light rain moving into the area by the early evening.
Sunday will be milder still, with the temperature reaching 13°C, but very windy. A yellow warning of strong winds has been issued by the Met Office for most of the UK, including all of Devon and Cornwall, from 6am on Sunday until the same time on Monday morning.
Rain is forecast for Sunday evening and through the night into Monday, but clearing to brighter spells in the morning.
The milder than normal conditions are forecast to continue through to the end of January, but rather dull with cloud and outbreaks of rain.
