The music of Elvis Presley plays a starring role in the latest production by Sidmouth Youth Theatre.

The feelgood musical All Shook Up will be at the Manor Pavilion Theatre from Wednesday, January 31 until Saturday, February 3.

The story starts in 1955 in a small town in mid-west America, where the residents' lives are repressed by a conservative Mayor. The town is shaken out of its dull existence by the arrival of Chad, a handsome, mysterious, leather-jacketed stranger, with a guitar on his back and a song in his heart.

Is this stranger 'The Devil in Disguise' or a 'Hound Dog' in his 'Blue Suede Shoes'? The townsfolk are about to be 'All Shook Up' and could be headed for 'Heartbreak Hotel'. But for Natalie, the love-struck, tomboy mechanic, it really is 'Now or Never'. In one zany night, lovers meet, woo and pursue, in a course of events that will change the town for ever. It's a rocking, heart-warming tale about following dreams, opening up to love, and the power of music.

Mix 25 of the best loved songs by The King himself with a hilarious, tongue planted firmly in cheek plot based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, and you have a show that you 'Can’t Help Falling in Love' with!

The musical is staged by a cast of more than 80 young people and the music is played by a live pit band.

Director Angela Davies said: "The cast are full of energy and enthusiasm as they create larger than life characters and embrace the classic Elvis songs. For them, 1955 is a long way back in time, but they are very excited to bring the lifestyle and the music to life."

Tickets priced £14 for adults and £7 for under 16s can be purchased from the Box Office, 01395 514 413, and online at www.manorpavilion.com
