Sidmouth Lions had a busy run-up to Christmas, raising over £2,000 for charity and supporting the local community.
In typically adverse weather conditions in the first week of December, the Lions' Santa and sleigh visited several locations in Sid Valley and Newton Poppleford.
The sight of Santa and his helpers was also a common view at the entrance of the local Waitrose, bringing Christmas cheer with carols.
These festive activities raised just over £2,100 net to support the Lions' charitable causes.
The club has thanked the community for their generous contributions to the collections.
Special thanks were extended to the management at Waitrose and Hall & Scott Estate Agents for accommodating the store-based Santa collections and sponsoring the sleigh operating costs respectively.
Further acknowledgements went to Central Garage Sidford for sparing a towing vehicle and Steve's Autos for conducting essential sleigh safety checks.
In addition to the Christmas activities, the Lions Club gave out £2,800 in charitable donations during November and December.
Among the beneficiaries were child bereavement charities, initiatives for the homeless and the support of young people, plus presents and support for the elderly in the festive period.
The Sidmouth Lions have appealed for more volunteers and new members - particularly to help with large scale events such as the Duck Derby in July and the Santa activities.
