A man in his 50s was found dead near the Jacob’s Ladder Beach kiosk on Boxing Day (December 26).
Police were called at 2.05am on Tuesday following concern for the welfare of a man.
A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The man was located near Jacob’s Ladder Beach kiosk. Ambulance and HM Coastguard also attended.
"Despite the best efforts of emergency services the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
"Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death but do not believe it to be suspicious at this time."
The man was in his 50s and from the Axminster area. His next of kin have been informed.
