The rusting wreckage of a vehicle that was swept out to sea in Sidmouth during Storm Ciaran has finally been recovered from the beach.
The 4x4 was parked near East Beach and unoccupied, when huge waves dragged it into the water as the storm lashed Sidmouth on November 2.
The vehicle could not be recovered immediately so it was secured in position for safety reasons until specialist contractors could remove it.
Yesterday (Wednesday, November 29) the recovery firm Crouch arrived at the scene. Contractors inspected the vehicle and then manoeuvred it on to a large low-loader and drove it away.
These pictures of the operation were captured by local photographer Simon Horn at about 1.30pm.
