The Winter Wonderband will be the guest performers at Sidmouth Acoustic Folk Club’s session on Monday, December 11.
The four-piece band play a mix of traditional folk, modern classics and original material, with tight four-part vocal harmonies.
The folk evening is at the Blue Ball in Sidford, from 7.30pm. Tickets are £12 and available from Paragon Books or from Janet Strapp, 07850 163 241, email janet.strapp@outlook.com
The Acoustic Folk Club usually meets on the third Monday of the month at the Blue Ball. Three out of four meetings are open nights, priced at £2, when anyone can come along to play, sing, step dance, tell a story or just listen, joining in with the choruses if they want to. There’s no pressure to perform.
The folk club was started by friends from Sid Vale Folk Choir who wanted to set up a regular club that would encourage the many talented people of Sidmouth and surrounding areas, and promote folk music to a wider audience. Its guest nights offer performances from the many professional artists in this country. For more information, contact Janet Strapp.
