Ottery St Mary got into the Christmas spirit as the town held its Festive Cheer event on Friday, November 24.
There was music and entertainment in the streets, a torchlight procession, an outdoor market and the switching-on of the Christmas lights.
Several businesses laid on special offers and attractions, including a Santa's grotto at Abbotts and 'the Frozen Trio' at The Coffee Bank.
Ottery St Mary Town Council has thanked everyone who was involved with making the evening such a success.
These include: the Town Crier Laurie Palmer, the La La Choir, St Marys Church for hosting the Christmas market and the stall holders for attending, Ottery St Mary Library, Ottery St Mary Silver Band, Ottery St Mary Carnival and Tar Barrel Committee, the carnival 'royalty', Jo Wilson Dance group, the Gliddons traction engine team, the organisers of the Christmas Tree Festival in the church, Coleridge Pre-school playgroup, Hospiscare, Ottery Police, and all the businesses that stayed open late and entered into the spirit of the event.
