Ottery St Mary paused to honour those lost in wars and conflicts, with events on Armistice Day, November 11, and Remembrance Sunday.
On Saturday maroons were fired outside the parish church to mark the beginning and end of the two-minute silence at 11am. A short act of remembrance took place in the churchyard, led by Rev Lydia Cook.
On Sunday morning, military veterans, police and fire officers and local uniformed youth groups gathered at Land of Canaan before parading through town to the church for the Remembrance service. Afterwards wreaths were laid at the war memorial.
West Hill held its own remembrance events, led by members of the Royal British Legion. There was a two-minute silence at the war memorial on Armistice Day, On Remembrance Sunday, wreaths were laid at the memorial, followed by a service at St Michael's Church
