Sidmouth's Christmas lights switch-on will take place on Saturday, November 18 in Market Place.
As usual there will be a draw for the 'golden ticket' to win a £100 toy voucher from Gliddons at 5.15pm, followed by the switching on of the lights at 5.30pm.
There will also be a launch event for Sidmouth's Winter Lights Festival which is being planned by Sidmouth School of Art. The festival itself, featuring illuminated installations and light projections at the Sensory Garden and Riverside Walkway, will take place in February, and the launch on the 18th will promote what is to come. It is designed to brighten up the dark winter evenings and provide another reason for people to visit Sidmouth at a time of year when the town is particularly quiet.
Sidmouth's late night shopping evening will take place on Friday, December 1 from 5pm until 8pm. The Chamber of Commerce will give more details as the date approaches.
