These photos were taken on Saturday morning as Storm Antoni swept across Devon.
Photographer Clive Williams captured these huge waves battering Sidmouth seafront at around 10am.
He said: "There was a spectacular thundering surf breaking over the rock islands at high tide and hammering the esplanade.
"This afternoon the gale force winds off the shore have flattened the sea and there is a lower-than-normal low tide.
"Today's stormy weather and high winds have played havoc with the Folk Week mini marquees on the Esplanade, and no doubt have been bad news for tent dwellers at the official campsite.
"Just a reminder of the fickleness and power of Mother Nature."
Photographer Mark Eburne captured people on the Esplanade watching the huge waves splash over the wall.
Earlier a large tree came down at Putts Corner, Sidbury, and there were numerous other reports of fallen trees across Devon.
Train services between Exeter St David's and Penzance were seriously disrupted by the stormy weather.
