Completing one marathon is a challenge for most runners – but Tipton St John resident Jo Earlam has just run one for the 100th time.
Jo, a member of Sidmouth Running Club, took part in the Exe Estuary Marathon held by the Devon running organisation Winding Paths on Sunday, July 16.
The course took her from Dawlish Warren to Budleigh Salterton via Exeter canal bridge, starting and finishing on the South West Coast Path.
She did the marathon to raise money for Exeter Dementia Action Alliance, the Samaritans and the South West Coast Path Association, and has already smashed her £780 target.
Afterwards Jo told the Herald: “The whole day was amazing from beginning to end. It was wonderful to be joined by so many friends from Sidmouth Running Club taking part in the event and also coming out to cheer me on, also other friends and all my family being at the finish line. We had a very enjoyable tea party afterwards. I can't thank everyone enough for their support and donations to my three charitable causes.”
