Three teams from The King's School completed the Ten Tors challenge last weekend, and many other students took part representing other youth organisations.
The Ottery school entered two teams for the 35-mile route and another for the 45-mile trek. Other King’s students were among the East Devon Explorer Scouts who took part.
The school’s PE teacher and Ten Tors manager Ben Venables said: “All students from the school who took part in the challenge deserve huge congratulations, they have trained for the event since last autumn and have all put in long hours of time and effort in preparation.
“The event was started by Colonel Professor Sir Jonathan Van-Tam OBE, who enjoyed chatting to students from the King’s just before the start. As Deputy Chief Medical Officer during the Covid 19 pandemic, he was able to remind our students how important it is to be resilient in the face of many challenges.
“Thank you to the whole school community for the support you have given to students from The King’s School, they have learnt lessons and enjoyed a huge sense of achievement that will remain with them for many years to come.”
