People in Sidmouth are invited to a to King’s Coronation Tea Party at Lockyer Lodge.
Churchill Retirement Living, which owns Lockyer Lodge, is holding the event on Thursday, April 27 from 2pm to 4pm to celebrate the official crowning of His Majesty King Charles III.
Visitors will be treated to music, fizz and refreshments to get the celebrations underway for this historic occasion, and special King’s Coronation ‘goody bags’ will be handed out while stocks last.
Right now, the towns and villages are gearing up for the jubilations by decorating their streets with flags and colourful bunting and arranging community-led events bringing neighbourhoods together for a good old-fashioned knees-up.
You can see a full list of events taking place across East Devon HERE.
Taking place from Saturday, May 6 to Monday, May 8, Monday will be Bank Holiday for everyone in the UK. The King has urged people to spend the day helping out the local community, if you can.
Nationally, the celebrations will include a concert at Windsor Castle and a balcony appearance at Buckingham Palace.
A balcony appearance at Buckingham Palace, a concert featuring global stars and a day of volunteering will all form part of the celebrations.
Churchill’s Senior Marketing Manager Caroline Haswell said: “We’re excited to welcome everyone to our special Coronation Tea Party to look forward to this historic national event that few of us are old enough to have experienced before.
“Visitors can get their hands on one of our special Coronation goody bags while stocks last, and we’ll have a host of treats and entertainment on offer, as well as the chance to chat to our owners and meet our friendly team.
“Everyone is welcome to come and join the party and see for themselves the wonderful community atmosphere on offer here.”
