A group of 50 worshippers gathered to celebrate Easter Sunday (April 9) were rudely interrupted by a rock movement.
The members of Sidmouth Churches were preparing for their annual Easter Morning Sunrise Service to mark the rolling back of the rock from Jesus's tomb.
But what they saw was a "totally different rock movement to the east", according to David Laidler.
He said: "With the background of the rather hazy rising of the sun, there was a loud noise of falling rocks and clouds of billowing dust.
"As the dust settled, the Rev David Caporn welcomed the gathering congregation and the joyous celebration began."
