Sidmouth has been ranked among the top 10 best places to live in Devon for 2023, according to Muddy Stilettos.
The women's lifestyle website creates a 'best places to live' list each year for England and breaks it down regionally.
The 2023 list was revealed towards the end of 2022 and now after votes from Muddy Stilettos readers, the 10 Devon entrants have been ranked.
Sidmouth came in ninth place on the list, with Exmouth being ranked as the best in Devon.
The full lists of all the counties in England can be seen on the Muddy Stilettos website here.
A national winner is set to be revealed on Tuesday, March 28.
What were the 10 best places to live in Devon?
The 10 listed entrants for Devon were ranked by Muddy Stilettos voters as follows:
1. Exmouth
2. Topsham
3. Tavistock
4. Okehampton
5. Kingsbridge
6. St Leonard’s, Exeter
7. Ashburton
8. Totnes
9. Sidmouth
10. Tiverton
In describing Sidmouth, Muddy Stilettos wrote: "Where so many seaside towns have faded, Sidmouth on the South East Devon coast has retained its Regency lustre with an unspoilt beachfront and busy labyrinth of indie galleries, boutiques and cafes at its centre.
"But it’s the very desirable range of period property, from thatched and Gothic to detached Victorian and Georgian family homes which has scooped it a spot in Muddy’s Best Places to Live 2023.
"Sure, it’s long been a Mecca for tourists and the well-heeled retired, but it’s far from sleepy, especially in August when the annual Folk Festival comes to town."
