A theatre show about Exmouth will be taking place at Manor Pavilion in Sidmouth next month.
The show will take place on Friday, March 10 at 2.30pm. Mike Tracey will talk about the growth of seaside resorts in the UK and explain how and why Exmouth became the first one in Devon.
The Devonshire Association East Devon Branch will take you through the history and development of Devon's first seaside resort, Exmouth - and what happened next.
He will describe the facilities and entertainment provided for the early visitors and assess the various external factors which promoted its development alongside the general growth of other resorts in Devon and elsewhere.
Tickets cannot be purchased in advance to this event, they must be bought on the day at the Box Office.
Admission is £3 for members, £4 for non-members, accepting cash or card.
