An illustrious book publishing event in Sidmouth, designed for aspiring writers, is now only two weeks away.

Part of the Sidmouth Literary Festival, the How to Get Published Weekend has been created to inspire people to write a novel or short story, and discover ways and insight on how to get it into print.

The event, originally scheduled to happen only on Sunday, March 12, was recently extended when the acclaimed novelist, theatre director, and playwriter Greg Mosse, agreed to give a one-day, 'How to Write a Novel' workshop on Saturday, March 11.

Greg, who is married to author Kate Mosse, will offer his expert support and guidance during his workshop which is ideal for any writer of any level who wishes to develop their skills.

Participants will be able to increase their knowledge of plotting, pace, characterisation, dialogue, setting, and more, at the day-long event running from 10am to 4pm at Kennaway House.

The main event, the How to Get Published Day, is scheduled to take place the following day on Sunday, March 12, also at Kennaway House in Sidmouth. Hosted by Sunday Times bestselling author and festival founder, Jane Corry, this second day is aimed at providing writers with all the best knowledge about the publishing industry.

Leading editors from top UK publishing houses as well as literary agents will be talking about what they are looking for in the next bestseller.

Commenting about the event, Jane Corry said: "It’s not easy getting a book published. We know that there are a lot of talented writers out there who would like help in finding an agent and publisher or to self-publish.

"We have invited the cream of publishers, agents and best-selling writers to give advice during the day."

The esteemed Sidmouth writer, who has seven Sunday Times bestselling books to her name, added: "I wish that I had this opportunity when I was starting up all those years ago!"

Bookings are already going well and both days are proving to be very popular, but there is still time to reserve a place. For details, visit www.sidmouthlitfest.co.uk
