A taste of farm life will come to Ottery St Mary Parish Church on Saturday, January 14.
The ‘Old Macdonald Had a Farm’ family fun day will involve two real sheep visiting the church, as well as a ‘Meet the Pig’ experience provided by an adult in costume.
Children will be able to play with farm toys, take part in a ‘find the lost sheep’ hunt around the church, make animal face masks and colour in farm pictures.
The real sheep will be brought along by Alfington church warden Bridget Faithfull who keeps a small flock.
The day will run from 10am until 3pm and there will be cakes and lunches available. Entry is £5 per child, and free for adults accompanying children.
Parish administrator Sue Jeacock said: “We did a Teddies and Trains day in August which went really well, and we hope this will also provide families something fun to do on what might be quite a damp dismal January Saturday. The church heating will be on, so it should be nice and warm in church too.”
