Late-night shoppers in Sidmouth on Friday (December 2) are invited to take a look around the Toy and Model Museum, free of charge.
As people shop for children’s Christmas presents, this is a chance to revisit some of the toys they will remember from their own younger days.
The display includes some of the most popular children’s toys through the decades, from Sindy dolls and a model railway to Paddington Bear and Lego Star Wars.
The museum has been decorated with projected constellations illuminating its arched ceiling and a Christmas tree decorated with Pelham Puppets – hand-painted toys made between 1947 and 1980. There is also a challenge to find all the knitted mini Father Christmases hidden around the museum.
The Toy and Model Museum, located in Chapel Street, will next be open from Monday, December 19 until Friday 23 December, 10am until 5pm, with last admission at 4pm, for the usual admission prices of £3.50 adult, £2.50 children, £10 family ticket, £3.00 seniors over 60.
