Home Instead Exeter and East Devon has been declared a ‘five star’ employer following an anonymous survey of its staff.
The company, which provides home care in the Exmouth to Newton Poppleford area of East Devon, was highly commended by its employees for good training opportunities and supportive leadership.
All 100 employees were invited to take part in the anonymous survey by independent employee engagement experts WorkBuzz. Home Instead Exeter and East Devon received an employee engagement score of 95, a rating that very few companies achieve.
The results showed that 97 per cent of care professionals said they are proud to work for Home Instead, while 95 per cent said their role gives them the opportunity to learn and develop new skills. Scores of 100 per cent were also achieved in each area with regards to the recruitment process, training and preparation for the care professional role, and support from the company.
Team members have also praised the company for being a supportive employer with regards to wellbeing. The leadership team have been championing issues that can affect employees, such as menopause, and running regular events such as book clubs, walking groups and social gatherings to bring colleagues together as friends.
Co-owner of Home Instead Exeter and East Devon, Vanessa McGlade, is now inviting more people to come on board and join the team.
She said: “Our Personalised Career Pathways scheme currently sees us supporting over 20 per cent of the team with fully funded RQF qualifications, enabling them to build their skillset and be eligible for higher rates of pay.
“We are really focused on enabling our team members to take their career in whichever direction they choose – and there are many options.
“Due to demand for our quality care services, we have in excess of 30 care professional vacancies on offer for people who want to begin or further a career in care, across the Exeter and east Devon communities.”
