Devon is renowned for its picturesque locations which thousands of tourists flock to during the holiday season.
But set aside the tourist hotspots, the award winning beaches and world heritage sites, where would you say Sidmouth's prettiest streets are?
1. The Esplanade
It's no surprise top of my list is the main seaside stretch. Absolute picturesque views of the Jurassic Coast towards Seaton and Dorset. Make sure to pay a visit to the local lifeboat station or just kick your feet up and enjoy a drink in the restaurants.
2. Peak Hill Road
If you don’t mind a hike. Peak Hill offers splendid views looking down over Sidmouth from Sid Vale.
3. Fore Street
With a mixture of small independent businesses as well as the big high street names. Fore Street is the main arterial route to the sea but do make sure to stop off and treat yourself to some retail therapy on your way.
4. Mill Street
At the end of Mill Street, you’ll find yourself crossing the River Sid. It’s a favourite with car drivers crossing the ford. You can sit there for hours just listening to the water trickle down the river. Just don’t sit too close to the road!
5. Church Street
Bunting, fairy lights and the shop fronts really make Church Street come alive at night. The graveyard and the floodlights from Sidmouth Parish Church can make it look spooky though. An ideal place for trick or treaters next month!
6. New Street
The hub of the town centre. The cobbled streets really give it an old-fashioned feel. As long as you don’t mind the smell of fish coming from the local fishmongers in the Market Hall.
7. Muttersmoor Road
Heading out on the outskirts of Sidmouth you will find Muttersmoor Road. Picture perfect cottages nestled between green trees line the road.
