EARP Clifford David Passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024, at 92 years of age. Clifford was born to Doris Rose and Jack Earp in Melbourne, Derbyshire on February 15, 1932. He was a structural engineer, serving in the army after WWII, and then working at British Rail and Conder Steel before founding Steelcon with his business partner John Asher in 1969. He and Betty (née Hulse) met in Ticknall Parish Church where she sang in the choir and he was the church organist and choirmaster. They were married in June 1954 and raised three children Lorraine, David and Simon and had four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Clifford's love of music continued throughout his entire life, including playing in a jazz band, countless church services, accompaniment at Masonic Lodge events and family singsongs around the piano. Clifford and Betty lived in King's Newton, Derbyshire until 1998 when they retired to Sidmouth, Devon. Betty passed away in 2019. Clifford always brought a positive, happy lightness to those around him. He will be deeply missed by many. The funeral service will be at Sidmouth Parish Church on August 14 at 10.30. Family flowers only please. Donations in Clifford's memory may be made to Dementia UK or Sidmouth Memory café Admiral Nurse c/o Potburys Funeral Services or online at www.potburys-funerals.co.ukTributes
