MACKINTOSH Alexander Gordon It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alexander Gordon Mackintosh, at the age of 101years. After a busy life working in banking in the City of London, Alex, together with his wife Peggy, retired to Sidmouth, formerly their happy holiday destination. Alex subsequently immersed himself in the life of Sidmouth becoming a member of the Sidmouth Bowling Club, Probus, Mens' Forum, Sidmouth Hospital Comforts Fund, The Sid Vale Association, and the Conservative Club. With his knowledge of finance, he assisted Sidmouth Voluntary Services/Twyford, Sidmouth Help Link and Sidmouth Hospice. He led an active life until the end, always maintaining a special interest in Crossword Puzzles and Scrabble. He will be sorely missed by his younger brother, John, other family members and his friends. May he rest in peace. A Funeral Service will be held at East Devon Crematorium, Whimple, EX5 2PT, at 12.15pm on Friday 17th November.
