PAM BAKER-CLARE (nee Timson) born 27th January 1929 . Pam Baker-Clare passed away peacefully at her home in Ottery St Mary on 1st September 2022 with her family around her, aged 93. Much loved matriarch of a large family; mother to Alastair, John and Robert; grandmother to Andy, Jonathan, Richard, Alexandre, Nathalie, Matt, Ellie, Rory and Sasha; great-grandmother to Chloe, Emma, Vinnie and Maya, mother-in-law to Rachel and Juliet, grandmother-in-law to Lucy, Clara, Andy and Tsui-Sie, ex-wife of the late Edward (Ted) Baker. Pam was a popular dentist in Evington, Leicester, before retiring in 2006 to Ottery St Mary to be near her family. She was active in many local societies, including the Otter Vale Art Society and the Talatones bell-ringers. She won prizes at the Ottery Flower and Produce Exhibition for her art and for her Bakewell Tart. Sadly more recently her mobility became restricted, but was still attending the theatre in Sidmouth a week before she fell ill with her final illness. She will be greatly missed as a generous, vibrant character who adored her family and many friends, had countless interests and an irreverent sense of humour.
