Noel Collier We are sad to announce the death of Noel Collier who passed away on Monday, 15th October 2012, at the age of 81, in Reutlingen, Germany. Noel was born on the 23rd November 1930 in Sidmouth. He grew up in Sidmouth and took over the family furnishing business in Church Street, which he devoted over 50 years to. Since his first cycle ride to Dunkeswell as a child, his interest in the allied Liberators turned into a lifelong passion for aircraft. He went on to obtain his private pilots licence and his proudest moment was a guest flight with the RAF Red Arrows. In more recent years Noel resided in Germany, the home country of his wife and where his son and family also live. Noel will be dearly missed by his wife Rita; son Gary & family Barbara, Sophie and Lucas; and nephews Barry, Anthony, Martin and Brian. The funeral service was held in Meckenbeuren, Germany on Friday, 26th October 2012. A remembrance service will be held for Noel at 2pm, on Tuesday, 20th November at Sidmouth Parish Church in Church Street, opposite his old shop.
