LINDSAY The Reverend Canon Robert. Bob, passed away peacefully and happily on 22nd November at Sidmouth Victoria Hospital, aged 96 years. Born in Bishop Auckland he had faithfully served the Church in Durham, Carlisle and in retirement in Devon. He held posts of particular responsibility in the Lake District where he was well-known and loved, retiring as Canon Emeritus of Carlisle Cathedral in 1981. His wife Jean died in 1986 in Sidmouth. He will be greatly missed in particular by good friends, neighbours and members of his bible study group who devotedly assisted him in his latter years. Funeral Service at Sidmouth Parish Church, Friday 30th November 2012 at 2.00pm. Family flowers only, donations if desired to Save the Children Charity c/o Potburys Funeral Service, 107 High Street, Sidmouth, EX10 8LB.
