Sidmouth Primary School has been presented with an award it won through its work with Sidmouth in Bloom.
Last month it was announced that Sidmouth had won the Clem Preece Memorial Cup for 'outstanding effort by a school in promoting South West in Bloom'. This was in addition to several other prizes won by Sidmouth in Bloom, including a Gold in the Champion of Champions category.
In fact four schools had been working with Sidmouth in Bloom: Sidmouth Primary, Sidbury Primary, St Johns, and Sidmouth College. Pupils from all four schools helped with planting at Connaught Gardens, the Bowling Green, the Ham, Riverside Walk and the Sensory Garden. All four are being recognised for their contribution.
Lynette Talbot, chair of Sidmouth in Bloom, presented Sidmouth Primary with its award last week. She said: "This was the first time Sidmouth has won this award: praise for the work in Sidmouth by its schools. Sidmouth in Bloom thank the teachers involved without whose efforts and time the children's planting could not have been achieved."
